Creating success in our new normal

As Boris Johnson’s latest Covid-19 announcement, and the roadmap for a phased approach to lifting lockdown sinks in, I want to call all businesses to start paving the way to their new normal (I know you’ll nail it!).

What a ride we’re on

I’ve absolutely loved the effort and energy people have put into adapting to the Covid-19 pandemic. Some of the ideas we’ve seen from brands and communities is frankly inspiring.

The great response we’ve seen from our recent webinar - opportunities to succeed in this challenging time - further evidences peoples’ determination.

As well as the likes of AirBnB, who launched cultural experiences for people from the comfort of their own home in crazy quick time, many small businesses have put a huge amount of effort into adapting the way they do things - we’re seeing more online solutions, virtual offerings and ‘to your door’ experiences. They’ve sort of become challenger brands in their own right.

Challenger brands push boundaries, change how things are done and deliver services or experiences that redefine consumer expectations. What’s not to love.

But. I’ve noticed that some small businesses consider this change as short term. As a lockdown solution and not part of their long term strategy.

Forward-focussed

At Thirty, we’re now firmly focussed on how to maintain these new customer expectations and respond to the shift in consumer mindset. As we digest the news of the Government’s plans to phase us out of lockdown - with more outdoor activity within our households, the option to return to work if you can’t work from home, and a roadmap for the next few months - we must shift our energy to the new normal, and how to rocket-boost our business growth.

In the coming weeks I’ll be sharing lots of thoughts that’ll hopefully spark an idea, but for now, I just want to leave all the amazing businesses out there with one thought:

If you’re already delivering convenient, connected solutions that allow people to engage with your brand, services or products in a different way, you are shaping new customer expectations - don’t stop.

Now’s the time to make your new normal part of your long-term business offering (or get cracking if you’ve not found your feet in the Covid-19 world yet).

Shift your focus

Don’t focus on how to get back to your old ways of doing business. Instead, plan to embrace and evolve your business to maintain these new expectations.

Now’s the time to change your thinking - from ‘how to survive’ to ‘how can I find my niche and exceed new customer expectations as a long term goal'.

Help’s on it’s way

To help you get started, we’ll be releasing a new webinar - the path to a new normal - later this week. Stay tuned.

As always, if you have any thoughts or need some help uncovering brilliant opportunities and making them happen, email us on hello@thirtyco.com or drop us a DM on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn
